Phoenix bar edinburgh gay
We are very excited to have been nominated for the Proud Scotland Award for Entertainer category! You like us, you really like us! With a standing ovation at the end we hope it was the first of many performances at the Edinburgh Castle! Edinburgh Gay Men's Chorus were proud to take part in the march singing some of our favourite anthems.
We were also really proud to be invited to sing on the main stage at Edinburgh Pride and we hope to be back next year! The fantastic South Wales Gay Men's Chorus joined us for this concert and wowed the audience with their performances. We finished the concert with a joint performance of The Greatest Love of All because if you can't love yourself how in the hell you gonna love yourself!
Songlines wa s a city-wide event that took place on the 21st of August and was a part of the Edinburgh International Festival. It was inviting everyone to take part in a unique celebration of singing.
Colleague story: Leah-Ashley Brown
It was inspired by the indigenous Australian ancestral tradition of passing on ancient sacred stories as large song cycles that preserve the living link between land and edinburgh. The audiences gave us a lot of positive feedback and it was a fantastic day for everyone involved. We took the audience on a journey with Doris Day and Calamity Jane, the power ballads of the 80's, a Disney medley and just enough jokes to make sure we were rated PG - Pretty great!
We can't wait to see you gay Keep an eye out for details of our next concert where we will be serenading you with love songs. Our next concert will be on Saturday December 3rd! Inaugurated on 25th Septemberthe former Morningside United Church was purchased by the then Edinburgh Corporation and throughout the s, 70s and 80s was host to Edinburgh Fringe Festival shows as well as home to phoenix bar arts.
EGMC has made the Church Hill Theatre their home for the past four years and regaled the invited audience not from the stage but from the bar! Guests included local city councillors, venue staff and management and representatives from many of the amateur companies representing song, drama, musical theatre, opera and dance.
